Thing is, Pacers aside from PG were 22/57 from the field.

So while a lot of things went badly for us, a good number went badly for them too. If you're going to assume that everything that went wrong for us will go right, it's hard to assume that everything that went wrong for them will still go wrong.
nope. raptors are supposedly the better team offensively. pacers are like 23rd in the league in offense.
so while we clearly underperformed in that department, what we saw from the pacers is pretty much what we should be expecting. just sucks that our perimeter defense is shit, letting a generally poor/average 3 point shooting team shoot 51 fucking percent is pure shit.

      Look at their schedule mate..

      W against Philly
      W against the Knicks
W against the Cavs w/o LeBron
L against the YOUR TORONTO RAPTORS
      W against the Nets
W against the Knicks w/o Porzingis and Melo if my memory serves me right
      W agains the Bucks
That's fair, but you beat the teams in front of you. If they were a completely incompetent team, they still wouldn't have that DRtg.

Only 10 teams in the league were better than 110 ORtg against teams under .500 this season, and only two teams were better than 115 Ortg against that opposition quality.

110 ORtg is reasonably impressive regardless of opposition.

During the regular season, we averaged 18.5 turnovers per game against Indiana.
That's my point. If raps take care of the ball they will win this game handily. There was a lot of unforced turnovers yesterday.

How many games do you play in April? 8 I think. What are their stats for the whole season? You don't become a different team in a 8 game span.
lol seriously. stats in april (aka barely half a month) in regular season games? who gives a shit.

I don't really care how good Indiana was in the regular season or last night. We have enough talent to beat them anyway.
But the Raptors lost? I also think the Raptors still win, but unfortunately your emotions/confidence have no bearing on the outcome of the actual games.

My point is that 19 turnovers wasn't out of character for us against that team.

              • Pacers have to get turnovers cause their offense isn't good.

Really reaching here. A bunch of bottom 10 defences, 8 total games played, and you are trying to draw a meaningful conclusion from that?

Indiana #7 overall for opp TO per game. Again, this is what the Pacers are. This is how they made the playoffs.

                      • The question you have to ask about things like the shooting and turnovers is... are they out of character?

We turned it over 18.5 times per game during the regular season against them. 19 times last night.

DeMar shot 26.3% on 19 attempts in game 1. 37% on 20 attempts during the regular season. So he was worse, but he wasn't good against them in the regular season.

Lowry shot great against them during the regular season(44% from the field, 40% from 3), but none of those games were post-elbowgate.

Ross shot 36% from the field and from 3 against them.

                        JV feasted.

So what we saw is pretty much what happened during the regular season, minus Lowry's performance... and he was terrible the last 10 games he played in the regular season.(32% from the field.)

and yet the raptors won 3 of the 4 games against them. so what does that say? hint: absolutely nothing. much like your post.

We also out rebounded them in the regular season. Which is why we won 3 out of 4 games. If both teams are going to shoot poorly we benefit cause we control the boards. "No rebounds, no rings."

The difference, and the point of bringing this up, is the "who they are" won game 1 for the Pacers. What do you suggest for game 2?

Raptors to be who they are. They have a stronger identity. If Indiana being who they are was so successfully than the seeding would be swapped.
