He was setting expectations about the possibility of winning and losing this series without Lowry playing his best - that is a totally subjective opinion. The team just showed they can win a series without BOTH Lowry and DD playing their best. Masai has built a deep and talented bench.

Obviously it's a motivational tactic to get Lowry going, but seems like an unnecessary gambit that could easily backfire in a big way.

There is a massive difference in squeaking past indy (and I do mean SQUEAKING) and beating a very good miami team without kl and dd. We can't do it this time if they aren't at least "pretty good"
