Yes, we do need to do this. We will not. We should have been practicing this all season. We did not. So we will not now.
what are you talking about? We did it against Miami and made an adjustment.

man we're 2 games away from the final in a year where most people had us pegged for like 45 wins in preseason. Let's have some perspective and go get this win.

JV's shot attempts in the playoffs:

      14(11 ORB), 18(5 ORB), 8(4 ORB), 7(2 ORB), 8(3 ORB), 9(4 ORB), 10(6 ORB), 16(0 ORB), 9(6 ORB), 12(3 ORB), 4(0 ORB).

No consistency at all in his involvement in our offense. Sometimes he gets shots, sometimes he has to great them himself, sometimes he gets nothing. Despite him being one of the best players in the playoffs.

      • raps definitely need to bring in some shooting in the offseason though. We don't have a single regular rotation player shooting above 35% from the arc.

I'm not talking about him consistently getting a huge amount of shots. But we have responded to this challenge before by getting him more looks, see game 2 against Miami (that's your 16 attempts with 0 offensive rebounds there which is a lot for a big). So we can do it.

          • I've said this from the start but this series is not about stopping Lebron, all we need to do to win is stop Kevin Love (or hope he forgets how to shoot again). He's the X-factor in this series because he's the one guy we cannot match up against.

            Love plays well, we lose.
Love plays poorly, we win (barring a classic Lebron performance)

I just feel like Cavs finally learned to do what kills the Raps: Trap the ballhandler on the pick and roll. Our "stars" have yet to make consistent effort to pass out of the trap when that happens. I'm surprised it took them this long to give that a try to be honest.
They didn't lose by 40 points because CLE trapped some pick and rolls..... Any analysis of this game is futile. Raps never showed up.

              • Meh, guys being out a bit late the night before doesn't matter. Have you ever worked evening shifts? That's essentially what NBA players do. When I worked evening shifts I went to bed 2-4 a.m. all the time, usually got up around 10. Apparently some NBA guys also nap on game day. They're on a completely different clock.

Exactly if I recall correctly cavs had 3 to 4 offensive rebounds to start the game that's when I knew we were in for a whooping.

                  • Read into this what you will, I just wanted to see the data so I threw it together.

Who passed to who so far this postseason on the Raps:

                    What I see, mostly:

Whenever a player who isn't CoJo/DeMar/Lowry gets the ball, if they pass, it's usually back to CoJo/Lowry/DeMar. The other guys rarely pass among themselves.

CoJo and Carroll in a casino at 2am night before the game?
Not a good look. I'd expect that out of carroll more than Joseph. And are they thinking it will go unreported? A 6'8 eccentric looking dude with long dreads marching thru a casino in a sleepier major city at 2 am on a Tuesday night with a large posse. Smart.

That's what makes this off season so interesting. Most people agree the most realistic way of keeping Biyombo is to trade Ross, perhaps out best 3 point shooter.

                          • Carroll needs to get his shit together. I'd be pissed at him if I was Casey. At least Cory has been good this series.

Denzel Valentine, Buddy Hield, Furkan Korkmaz all better shooters than Ross IMO. All in the draft range for the Raptors.

considering biyombo's price is looking more like 15-20M than 10-12 I think we need to let him go and explore trading Ross for a starting power forward. We can draft shooting in Hield, Murray or Valentine and maybe start to integrate Bruno if he's ready.
