  • Honestly I think the Spurs have overachieved due to Pop's greatness + Kawhi. They've turned a questionable supporting cast into a very good season but I won't be surprised if Houston outguns them.

    • What's that old saying?
      Offense wins championships?
      No, that's not it.
      That can't be it.

Have to play enough defence to slow them down + take one on the road, not gonna outscore those guys in their own gym.

Lowry had the most assists in the whole game and people are talking about ISO ball? Huh?
What we're talking about is that we should have been playing a ball movement system all season long, instead of waiting until Lowry and DD see the predictable hard traps in the playoffs and have no choice but to move the ball into the hands of role players to make decisions. Ball movement is more than just guys hitting open shots, reacting off Lowry/DD drive and kicks. The other purpose is to allow role players to get comfortable with decision making, other than the highly predictable pass back to Lowry & DD.

Real superstars elevate their game to meet the challenge. Real superstars don't allow their team to get whooped like this. Not on this stage anyway.
And on a consistent basis. It's really ridiculous. 5 straight blowout losses to the Cavs in the playoffs now.

The 4 games between the Pacers/Cavs in round 1 were all closer than this and we're a more talented team than the Pacers. Pacers could've easily won 3 of 4 if they executed properly in the last min of the game.

I expect/hope DeMar will drop 40 in game 2. Hopefully Lowry shows up again. We need a combined 60 pts from our all-stars. That's what our system is designed for. If not, Lowry's got to limit Kyrie to 15 or so. Kyle needs to win the PG battle decisively. Everybody's saying Kyle had a great game (20/11), but Kyrie had 24/10.

That's fair. It's the same thing being said about Westbrook & OKC this year.

                    • Lowry & Derozan are not superstars. Ridicilous to hate on them for what they are not.

Except the issue was that the Raps couldn't contain anything defensively. Not sure what ball movement has to do with that.

                          • This Cavs team out "offensed" GSW last year. You ain't going to win that way. Have to defend.

Then maybe Lowry shouldn't be signed to the Max if he isn't one really, at the age of 31.
