My first thought is they are now paying Lowry too much to bring in another high value contract. But that's not true although I did read they had to work hard to stay under the salary cap.
Lowry 29M
DeRozan 28M
Ibaka 20M
JV 15M
CJ Miles 8M (basically swapped for Tucker)
and then a huge massive giant drop to a bunch of rookies making under 3M and most under 2M
Total team salaries:
Cleveland 137M
GSW 133M Any surprise the top 2 teams have the top team salaries?
OKC 131M
Miami(!) 126M
Washington 124M
Milwaukee 122M
Portland 121M
Toronto 120M
Houston 116M
San Antonio, Clippers, Detroit 115M
So a whole lot of teams only spending 10-15M less than Cleveland/GSW ....

OKC is the biggest surprise.. they have the same ownership that traded Harden away in his prime since they didn't want to pay tax then. If OKC stumbles out of the gate, I wouldn't be surprised if they traded George or Melo to someone else. Now that RW locked himself in, they won't have to worry about him resigning.
