They ranked him 12th, citing "a question of both health and demeanor".

This is why you can never go wrong with low expectations when it comes to these things.

Kyle was 23, which was a little better than I expected, and DeMar was 30, a little worse than I expected. Not sure how Horford made number 16 though. He represents the "so underrated he's overrated" phenomenon to me.
Horford at 16 lmao. Similar to Boston being better than even odds to win the east and articles asking "who will challenge Boston for the throne??"

    • Hahaha, who the hell actually calls Al Horford a top 16 player in the NBA?

Beating Boston this season will be so much fun. Every time.

FWIW hes ahead of Hayward and Irving so SI is calling him Boston's best player. They drunk

They rave about his intangibles and impact on winning but then have Lowry behind Aldridge and Irving. Go figure

Horford is certainly very good, but if they value him that highly it's astonishing to see Lowry so low on the list. Lowry is a top 10 player by impact stats.

Yep it (intangibles) matters for Horford and green immensely. It hurts DeRozans ranking. And doesnt factor in for Lowry over his raw numbers. New year same shit.

Well 11th was Paul George (so that's wrong right away).

Top 10, based on a quick perusal, would be:

James, Curry, Durant, Harden, Davis, Giannis, Westbrook, Butler, Embiid, Paul

                • Horford is the main reason why Boston is good right now. He's their engine just like Kyle is ours. If only Thibs wasn't so damn greedy. They give Al what he wants in free agency and he's a Hawk again. Millsap would be available in a trade since they wanted Dwight Fricken Howard. We'd have Millsap instead of Ibaka.

It's one of those.. what could have been.. Just like if we lost that damn game to Brooklyn to get the 6th seed (Lillard) instead of the 8th seed (Ross).

It's a domino effect. If we ever ended up with Lillard, chances are that the pieces never line up for Kawhi

My guess is that also Demarcus Cousins ranking took a major tumble since injury as well as Kyrie, Hayward, Butler and Paul.

If S.I decided to penalised Kawhi for his injury (that didnt require surgery only rehab) than its only fair that it should be done for others (which of course they wouldn't cause they are biased) and guys like Klay & Draymond take their spots in the top 10 unless proven otherwise.

I hope this serves as a sort of hit list for Kawhi. He would never publicly come out and say/tweet anything like what DeMar does when these rankings come out, but as long as the motivation is there then the league better watch out.

Kawhi punished in ranking for "demeanor and injury"...and yet I count at least 2 injury prone players and a guy who doesn't wanna play for the team he's on in the top 10

                          Welcome to Canada Kawhi

Lmao bunch of dummies. Since when is Butler better than Kawhi? PG? really? Embiid? lol

They also ranked Horford 16 lol. So apparently Kawhi isn't that much better than Horford?

The ONLY player that is better better than Kawhi is LeBron. You can make argument on Curry and Snake sure. But that's about it.
