013 first round draft pick from Toronto
Toronto's own 2013 1st round pick to Oklahoma City via Houston (Top-3 Protected and 15-30 Protected in the 2013 Draft, top-2 protected and 15-30 protected in 2014, top-2 protected and 15-30 protected in 2015, top-1 Protected and 15-30 protected in 2016, top-1 protected and 15-30 Protected in 2017 and unprotected in the 2018 Draft. [Houston-Toronto, 7/11/2012 and then Houston-Oklahoma City, 10/27/2012]

Most likely Raps draft no one.

Thanks Matt. Didn't know about the '15-30 protected' part of the deal.
Lucky OKC. They have a good team and a good additional pick as well. Reminds me of when the Pistons were dominating and drafted 2nd(if I'm right, from Memphis). They blew it though by drafting Milicic.Attitude Is A Choice.

PICK WILL BE TRADED IF...
2013: between #4-14
2014: between #3-14
2015: between #3-14
2016: between #2-14
2017: between #2-14
2018: between #1-60
- it could very well be the worst pick to giveup (best, from the Raps' perspective)
- it would remove the uncertainty around the pick, allowing GM/scouting/etc... to better plan for the future
- it would put future 1st round picks (starting with 2015 pick) back in play for potential trades, giving BC yet another asset to work with
- it would mean the Raps were in a dogfight for the playoffs (good for fans and players), but just missed, which would make the team that much hungrier next season
Obviously I'd love the Raps to be a perennial playoff team but, if they're ever going to miss the playoffs in the next 6 seasons, it might be best to miss them this season. There are definite, tangible benefits of doing so.Last edited by CalgaryRapsFan; Tue Nov 20, 2012, 11:30 AM.
