Some guards are actually stepping it up, like Kemba & especially Thomas, who is the only legitimate scoring threat on the Celtics. And yet both of the Raps all-stars are crapping the bed epically?
I give Indy/Vogel/PG all the credit in the world... but what the Raps backcourt is doing is unprecedented (in a bad way).

He's shown up in the playoffs not only against a better defensive team in ATL but also with less offensive options around him to take attention away. Stars go up against great D in the playoffs all the time. "Our guys" have been bad. Simple as that.
To keep this series alive, the Celtics needed Thomas to get loose after a combined 12-for-36 shooting performance in Games 1 and 2. So Brad Stevens utilized Thomas off the ball, almost exclusively. The Hawks had virtually no answer, falling behind big early before ultimately dropping Game 3, 111-103.

A good, creative coach tries to make things easier for his players. We ride or die.
Lowry is missing a lot of good looks already. We need Stevens to help figure out something with DeMar.

And that scramble defense reared it's ugly head only because of turnovers and transition. Indy did a fine job of pushing the pace and getting mismatches in those situations, and the Raps, slow to get back were forced to pick up the closest player on D. And this despite the fact that Casey stressed before the game (and Nurse echoed at halftime) that getting back off missed shots and turnovers was key to the D. Players dropped the ball there, not Casey.
