    Love to see it.

I'm betting Fred does the maximum available extension this offseason. I think it's just below $30M per year.
Yeah, they give him his extension with term, he steps back a little in his on-ball role because they've already locked him up.

      • I outlined this in the salary sheet, but for reference here:

FVV can opt out of his 23-24 option and extend for up to the following:
        22-23: 21.3M
        23-24: 25.5M
        24-25: 27.5M
        25-26: 29.6M
        26-27: 31.6M

Total extension after this current locked in season: 4 years. 114.2M (28.6M AAV).

He can also opt into the option and extend for basically the above with slightly lower salary so no reason to think that will happen.

i see 3 raptors starters in the top right quartile.

3 raptors starters and kevin huerter, lol. maybe that's not so surprising when you consider how poor their perimeter defenders were last year with hunter injured, so he guarded a lot of the opposing best perimeter players. and also the x-axis does not account for success in the matchup

Lauri Markkanen is twice as good as Evan Mobley (who, himself, is below average)?

Looks like we need some context here for the definition of "D"... in addition to "success" which you mentioned.

The definition is right there in the tweet. The X axis is matchup difficulty. Who got the toughest matchups on defense. Markkanen was playing SF for Cleveland next to Mobley and Allen for most of the season and was getting the wing matchup, which typically is a much harder defensive matchup than the one at PF or C.

3 Raptors is the top right shows how our switching defense works. Everyone gets the tough matchup. Also that our 3pt shooting is not so bad.

                                Read closer... it's not clear.

The tweet says "who hit catch & shoot 3's AND defend against the toughest matchups nightly..." The AND defend part implies success against those matchups.
