Amazing talent but something missing in the frontal lobes. The greatest players have all had his kind of athleticism but also high intelligence. As much as I disliked Kobe and dislike Lebron they are very smart men on and off the court. High IQ and decent athleticism gives you Steve Nash. High IQ, decent athleticism and short stature gives you FVV!

Amazing supernova individual talent for sure. Leader, team player, winner? Meh. He's no kobe. More Iverson.9 time first team all-RR, First Ballot Hall of Forum

Kobe is one of the most overrated players in NBA history. He's not even in the top 10 players all time by any objective measure other than "lul 5 rings".

Most "best player on the team" rings in the last 30 years:
Jordan - 6
Kobe - 5
Duncan - 5
Shaq - 4
You can split/share those 2000-2002 Lakers rings between Shaq/Kobe however you want, but if you're a team MVP with that many rings on a list that short over a 30 year period...I wouldn't dismiss that argument for greatness out of hand. It's arguably the most important argument to make. This isn't a Robert Horry along for the ride, it's not the 60's Celtics racking up rings in a tiny league, and it's not Wilt Chamberlain stuffing box scores without winning big. It's a great player, the best player on his team for most of his career, winning championships at an undeniably elite level. MJ is arguably the GOAT player. Duncan is many people's GOAT PF. Shaq is in a lot of people's top 3 or 5 centres of all time. But the only other guy on the list is overrated?"We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard

KeonClark wrote: View PostYour giving Shaq and kobe 9 combined, 1 for every title they each won even though they shared 3. You can't do that lol. Only 1 guy can be picked as beat player on the team or at worst a half point each. I'm giving the 3 early Lakers titles to Shaq. BUT, Shaqs 4th ring easily goes to d wade. So it goes

East Seeding Watch...
Raps into Detroit. A thread dedicated to this one.... So much has gone south so fast for the Pistons its hard to see them pulling an upset. Raps W.
Utah at Indy I wasn't buying Indy stock when push was coming to shove late in the season. Bad call on my part. The Pacers went in and beat the Bucks in Milwaukee and then did the same thing to the Wiz right in DC. There is more giddyup in this horse than not. Tonight they get the Utah Jazz who are in a dog fight for 8th spot in the west. The Jazz are but one game down in the loss column to the Nuggets, Clips and Thunder. They are in it. The Pacers led by Olidipo like to get out and run... The Jazz like to slow it down and win with defense. The irresistible force vs the immovable object..... Defense travels well. Jazz W.
Houston in Milwuakee The Rockets want to finish 1st out West. To do that they can't take a night off. Its a B2B for them and Milwaukee had last night off . Still the Bucks are having trouble making shots from behind the arc and are not in the top quartile of teams in terms of points per game. Daryl Morey would fine guys if he could if they don't take a 3 open or not and they do light it up.... The Alphabet as usual will play well and have a highlight reel play or two.. but tonight the Bucks come up short against the high scoring Beard and CP3 led Rockets. Houston W.
NewLooks vs Denver First of 6 on the road for the NewLooks. In a scheduling quirk they played Denver at home less than a week ago and lost to the Nuggets. The Nuggets like the Jazz, Thunder, Clips and possibly the Spurs are in 5 way fight for two spots in the West. The Nuggets coughed one up last night to the Mavericks and can't feel good about that. If you lose 3 in a row in the West you can go from 4th to 9th. They should be ready to go. The game is at altitude. The Nuggets have more to lose than the NewLooks and will play like it. Nuggets W.Last edited by Demographic Shift; Wed Mar 7, 2018, 04:05 PM.There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.
