Cavs and Celtics lost today woot woot!

Raptors could be within a game of first place if they beat Atlanta.
If Raps beat Atl and Celts lose to clips tonight, Raps are in 1st with win %

More like Celtics hitting the No-Hayward, bad-offense wall.

            • As important as the Celtics loss is, it's also worth noting that they lost to the Lakers - Boston would receive the Lakers first round pick this year if it falls 2 through 5 - otherwise the 76ers get the pick. So the loss last night impacts the Celtics in a couple of ways.

I would rather have us win and them lose.

                • I think that most of us can agree that the Raptors winning, and the Cavs and Celtics losing is a good thing for Raptors fans.

The Nets and Lakers winning, which impacts the first round picks of the Cavs and Celtics, is also a good thing for Raptors fans.

Is the Cavs losing really a good thing? If the goal is 1st seed we should want them sitting in 3rd

                    • Cavs winning or losing doesn't matter as long as they stay below us. Hard to say which bracket we want them in until the #1 seed is decided between us and Boston.

                      • Currently, the Cavs sit 4.5 games back of the Raptors for the #2 seed. They're also only 4.5 games out of missing the playoffs entirely.

Cavs' upcoming ten games are against the Pacers, Pistons (x2), Miami, Houston, Orlando, Minnesota, Atlanta, and Boston.

If the Cavs defense doesn't turn things around quickly, it's conceivable that the Cavs fall out of the top half of the East.

At this point the Raptors need to just plan on beating whoever they meet in the playoffs. The way Cleveland is sliding and Boston is showing signs of coming back down to earth, this looks like it could be one of the most doable paths through the EC in years. Also, the rest of the conference is also so volatile right now we're not even sure where Cleveland/Boston will end up and at this point and we're not sure if a team like Miami, Philadelphia, or the Pacers might not be a harder first round match-up than Cleveland. Who the hell knows.

6th or 7th would work too

                              • Cavs just need to get a rim protector into the starting lineup and bring Crowder off the bench in the playoffs when Lebron is motivated to play defense. They could solve their defensive problems immediately by swapping Crowder for TT, which is their regular playoff lineup. Crowder is only starting so that Lebron can save his energy during the regular season.
