I think both the Nuggets and Knicks are just as like to be in the lottery in 2016 as in the playoffs so that 1st rounder is alright by me. Chances are the Raptors flip it again though.
That pick wherever it falls even in the 20's can be combined with our own to move up in the draft even if just 2 spots and we get just 1 better player instead of 2. There is no loosing in getting an extra first round.

Melo, Amare and Chandler all come off the books in the 2014/2015 season. So it's impossible to guess where the Knicks finish in 2015/2016.
Likewise, the Nuggets esentially underwent a front office house cleaning; all those minds who put that really good team together are gone. So again, no telling where they finish in 2015/2016.
All that said, the Nuggets could be choosing the best of two lotto picks, which still bags the Raptors a lotto pick.
My guess is that the Raptors flip that pick again over the next year. Ujiri is collecting assets for future moves. I'm putting my money on everything in this Barngani deal being turned over within a year.

Nice little write up by kirk goldsberry from grantland...

To be fair, Bargnani is still young enough to develop, and in a new environment with better teammates, it’s reasonable to expect improvement. Regardless, pinning hopes on him remains a leap-of-faith proposition at best. It’s very hard to find a 7-foot NBA player who shoots less than 40 percent from the field and averages fewer than four rebounds per game. It’s even harder to justify spending $10 million per season on one."They're going to have to rename the whole conference after us: Toronto Raptors 2014-2015 Northern Conference Champions" ~ ezzbee Dec. 2014

no corner 3s - almost all of them from the foul line up.
Strangely, even while he's often been called a one dimensional jumpshooter, even his 3 pt shooting and jump shooting was one dimensional

The more I look at this trade the more I like it.
What did Casey say that he wanted to add to the roster "veteran toughness inside", a mentor jamal-magloire type player. What was another need that we had? 3 pt shooting.
Camby: If we can convince Camby to hang with us, so that we can flip him to a contender late in the year (like we did with Anthony Carter) he could bring inside toughness, defense, shot blocking, and great mentoring for JV.
Quentin Richardson: I'm hearing that he signed a three year deal (one year guaranteed) so this looks less and less like someone we are going to waive immediately. He is a veteran who shoots 35% for his career from 3pt and is known as a good perimeter defender, also a good veteran presence in the locker room. A guy who can stretch the floor.
Steve Novak: Gunslinger from the outside.
We received potentially 3 good role players. Two guys that add defense, two guys that add three point shooting. All at very reasonable prices (Only 1 million of Camby's 2nd year salary is guaranteed) PLUS a first round pick and 2 second round picks. I think Masai hit a home run on this one, unbelievable deal for the Raps.
Look for Masai to flip both Camby and Q-Rich at the end of the year for another 2nd rounder or two .... This guy is a beast."Defense wins championships."

Ujiri Turned Down David Lee Offer
Golden State offered Lee in a package for Toronto's Andrea Bargnani, sources said, but the Raptors made a deal with the New York Knicks to shed the final two years, $22.5 million on Bargnani's contract.
Colangelo would have took this, called a press conference and told everybody how smart he is.
