The great thing for DeMar is that this series is far from over. He has a chance to redeem himself. There's no better time like game three on the road. The easiest way to silence the critics is to deliver.
True, it's sad that most of those critics are raptor fans though.

It doesn't get any easier, if we get past the Pacers, Wade, and Deng are both capable defenders as well...and Whiteside actually has the size to give JV some trouble. We only need two our three playing well to beat the Pacers but we don't get past the second round if DD doesn't find his game.
I think DD's life gets easier in the 2nd round, but as a team, it will be harder.

If literally any other player on the team was negatively contributing this much during a playoff series ... would you be saying the same?

I'm talking taking a high volume of shots and hitting very few of them. Not contributing on the boards or assists. Being an actual detriment defensively against any player put in front of him. And still carrying a huge amount of usage and minutes played.

Would you be saying the same thing?

The fact of the matter is: Demar CAN play better. He's shown that this year. The issue is whether or not he will.
I would if it was trending world wide.

There's no conspiracy against Demar. This city and country are dying for sports heroes. You'll get all the love if you play hard and smart and win. You don't even have to play well.

What's infuriating is when you have Jonas absolutely destroying the opponent, and you look him off repeatedly to get your own shot even though you're ice cold. It's just dumb. And if it doesn't work out, you deserve to catch shit for it.
DeMar's taken 37 shots in this series and passed to JV 10 times.

          This is insane.

These are people too. Some people wouldn't want to deal with that. Especially when your looking from the outside in.

Think about it. DD has the most win of any raptor ever. Now he has two bad games and the fan base is publicly attacking him.

It's just like Scola/Carroll/Cojo all being shocked how the fan base was overreacting after one game. Every player doesn't know the history. They know that DD has lead this team through there best stretch in franchise history. Now after 2 playoffs games after being matched up with PG they switch on you?

            It's sad.
No it really isn't. He is a "star" player who has been useless in 2 Playoff games. Playoff games are when Stars step up, doesn't only have to be scoring. Rebound, play defense, move the ball, move off the ball. DD did none of those things along with his terrible shooting. He could move with out the ball, cut to the basket, get some off ball movement to get open, instead he gets the ball in his hands, stops any ball movement, and either tried to go one on one or drove to the rim trying to draw fouls. That isn't winning basketball, and isn't the type of game you should see from a "star".

You think it's going to be easier to score in the paint against Deng, Winslow and Whiteside?

                • Westbrook has tons of critics. Kobe had tons of critics. Blake has tons of critics. LeBron might have more critics than the rest of the league combined.

If DeMar needs special treatment to protect a fragile ego/psyche (he doesn't), it's one more knock against him.

I think Paul George is the most difficult match up for Demar in the East. As a team, the combo of Wade-Deng-Winslow-Whiteside is more challenging for our team, but on an individual level, Demar vs PG is harder than Demar vs Deng or Winslow or Wade.

Patterson wants to play here. You know, the guy you bashed earlier this year.
Funny you mention 2pat. He made a comment about the fans overeating last night. Can't remember what he said exactly. Can someone post his post game interview?

True, will need a whole team effort to beat them.

It was especially tough in game 1 when DeMar had to face him on both ends of the court. PG is a better player at both ends - DeMar was not coming out on top in that one. All-Star Reserve vs. All-NBA.

Game 2 DeMar was clearly rattled. He's got a couple days, they're going to Indy, hopefully he settles down and figures out/remembers how to contribute even if the FGA are going to continue to be tough.

The flipside is, who do we hide DeMar on defensively versus the Heat?

I'd say Winslow. Wade or Johnson will destroy him.

Deng. He isn't the same player he used to be.

If we face the Heat, Demar should be able to get going. But conversely, it will be much harder for the team to get going and he likely needs to have big games for us to advance.
