Those last 2 free throws were SOO soooo sooo crucial .. man oh man ... and that 3 he made? Phew .. that was awesome.
It's really vital that he builds on this though. He needs to connect the dots and not revert to bad habits.

That said, once you slay the dragon it can clear a big mental block. I'm cautiously optimistic we can see much better out of him the rest of the way.

      • Demar came out unbelievably to start the 2nd quarter. Scored a quick 8 points and had an assist. Without that, the game would've been out of reach much earlier.

Fuck, and then we tear it up in the fourth. What the fuck was that. I am in awe. this is amazing. fuck, the raptors can be so good. and its like a switch for them.

              • If any other player out up the numbers demar did tonight then he would have been given an A+ with praise galore. Demar A- with a "let's see if it's real"

                • Quick decisive moves, that was the difference. He wasn't out there playing with the ball and gauging the D. Received a pass or screen and made his move quick. Thats the key.

To be fair, no other player had his previous four games.

That said, he was great last night. If he has figured out the Indy defence and the rest of the team can return to how they played before (giving Patterson another game with the starters to get into a groove will help a lot) this series (and any potential future ones) becomes very winnable.

Exactly. Caught the ball on the move, and never let the half court defense get set.

A lot of movement before he got the ball too. I haven't seen DeRozan curl off of screens (multiple screens, and multiple times per play) with that much energy and speed consistently in a game for a long time.

The previous 4 games left a very, VERY sour taste in our mouths (and the record books, for that matter). Can't blame the grade at all.

                              Sure. More so, then.

                              • Demar got to the foul line a lot and we won (barely). That's our "style" and that's what has to happen for the Raps to win consistently.

Either DD or KL (ideally both) has to get their normal FT rate for the Raps to win, but the question is: is that style sustainable?
