I'll reserve my judgement on whether he should be on the team at all for about January 1st...If he's still the same old DeMar with no useful 3pter, inefficient scoring tendencies and only modest contributions at best in other areas, trade him. If you sign him to a new deal, even if it's in the 18-20M range, you're probably never going to recoup that value in a trade anyway.

I'm not sure this can be a "wait for the end of the season" decision. Unless Masai is comfortable letting him walk for nothing, which he may very well be (it's not like impending UFAs usually bring in the best trade hauls anyway).

I'm sort of neutral on DD. Don't like the lack of 3pt. shooting, poor efficiency, or lack of contribution to other aspects of the game, but the one thing he does, is creates offence for himself which in turn creates opportunity for others. On a team mostly consisting of role players that require others to create offence for them, even someone as inefficient as DD has value doesn't he?

If we could trade him whom could you bring in to help Lowry run the O?

I wouldn't necessarily expect any decent SG to come back, or possibly just a veteran stopgap to make it til the offseason.
