Did anyone get a team full of small guys and how did they do? My team is pretty big and I put up 22 points last night.

Well five of my ten are G, three are GF and two are bigs. I only had two guys play last night. They both played ok.

steals and blocks seem to be very important because of their large multiplier. whiteside, gorbert, gasol, and vucevic all had huge games last night, but whiteside is way out front because of his blocks, steals. 5 turnovers for vucevic really brought his score down. first reaction is one more stat line that brings the score down could create separation in player value. maybe fg% or free throws can get added in, this is a first reaction.

Steals/Blocks seem to be pretty big in this league. Damon had a huge night last night.. 39/5/6 but 0's on steals/blocks.. so had *only* 5.8 points.

            Interesting...

If you take a look at the whole league the points are fairly spread out among all positions:

              https://basketball.fantasysports.yah...17&jsenabled=1

Players who produce well rounded stat lines are definitely rewarded for it. I don't think bigs are weighted higher than guards though. Guards are more likely to get steals and assists. Bigs are more likely to get blocks and rebounds. It's the guards who hit the glass and the bigs who know how to pass or pickpocket who really seem to rise high.

There are seven centers in the top 20. The lack of FT% helps some of those guys immensely. On the flip side, the lack of FG% is helping some of the wings and guards immensely.

We can adjust the weights in the off-season if we feel there isn't a balance.

The average NBA stat line is in line one, followed by points translation in line two:

              PTS/REB/AST/STL/BLK/TO
              11.8/4.8/2.6/0.9/0.5/1.6
              1.4/0.7/0.4/0.3/0.2/0.2 =2.8 points

Everything rounded to one decimal. This all comes down to what we want this league to be about.

It's only been one night.. would like to see more games played to see if any tweaking is needed. And with only 6 cats, it makes sense that steals/blocks should have more weight. Plus they are way harder to get compared to points, assists or rebounds.

This is exactly what I was thinking. A steal leads to a bucket in many cases. A block shuts the door on possibly an easy bucket. The complete players, typically the best players, are hitting these categories. I don't want the league to be weighted towards bigs though if that turns out to be the case as per Miek.

this is why i am trying to make a team of all pfs and centers. i want a test level, was hoping someone had a team of all guards, and then a couple teams of mixes. makes it fair to compare, and helps everyone in the league understand value.

                    last night i had 5 guys playing and i put up 97 61 11 6 8 10 for 25.36 points
                    koncept had 6 players put up 128 35 26 6 2 14 for 25.4 points

Is it easier for a big to get a steal than a guard to get a block? I guess it might come down to that when fielding a team. From my eye test I would think bigs would tend to have an easier time getting steals. Where as guards don't usually get many blocks.

Looking at block leaders for the year.. Danny Green is the first guard in the list and he's 26th in the list... Simmons is next at 37th. You could argue that both are basically forwards anyway. Looking at steal leaders you have Young at 11th and Drummond/Cousins both tied for 12th.

Actually Drummond and Cousins would both be killing it in this league since they are in the top 15 in both cats.

Trade between 007, and me. Harden and russell for Kat and Turner. Tons of draft picks involved too.

14 guards in the top 30.
6 forwards in the top 30.
10 centers in the top 30.

Position is more fluid in the NBA though and I think the above generally proved that the distribution of top contributors is fairly balanced across the board. Note this data is on the season to date and not Monday night.
