  • More doom and gloom as a result of climate change initiatives. Those conniving monsters!

Ontario is throwing more green at motorists to go green with electric vehicles, raising the maximum subsidy for buying one to $14,000.

Another indication of unabated warming occurring in 2016.

      • Not very encouraging

Educating the Canadian public at large on this subject still seems to be an issue.. In a recent study by the University of Montreal just 49% attributed increased warming to human causes. In comparison, 57% Americans felt the same way. This is surprising to me...thought we would have had the higher number. Work to do informing the public.

It's really only a political issue in the U.S., which is why I'm somewhat surprised this topic has this much traction here. And the U.S. can politicize ANY issue imaginable.

The rest of the world acknowledges the overwhelming evidence.
Well, the US is ahead of Canada on this issue, so there's that!

            Slander....again

            Ignoring facts....again.

            You're a waste of time.

The good thing is nothing will ever be done on climate change as has been shown by Paris and as more time goes along it will be shown to be the fraud it is.
            Soooo.

Keep burning oil, polluting the planet, killing off every single species on the planet.....

I like how it is always about temperature change, as if the elephant in the corner is nothing.

            • dont know how this can still be a debate ... just look at pictures of the Arctic where there is less ice year and after or how this is a very serious matter to countries like the maldives or south pacific countries where the rising sea levels are slowly reducing the size of their country

oil is great, its a stable energy source and its power output for the amount is burned is great. But it takes a long time to produce and we should be switching over not only for the enviroment but to conserve our supply of fossil fuels

Oh, I thought there was no pause. So, now there is. Again. No one is sure why but they have some guesses. The models are wrong but no biggie. We're still 100% convinced the rest is perfectly sound and anyone who questions any of it is a poo-poo face...

"Pause" is an inaccurate term though. Warming never stopped.

What does his winning an Oscar have to do with anything? Is climate change not potentially mankinds biggest threat?

You must realize that the same scientists whose work contributed to the readings now being questioned are the same doing the questioning with the revision. There is an integrity in there somewhere...no? It is also how credible science is practised.

Warming has not stopped. These adjustments I believe relate to the period 2000-10. But with the now record 2014-15 warm temps. that graph is likely to resume it's previous trajectory.

Or as Ed Hawkins, one of the researchers and a scientist at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science at the University of Reading, put it on his blog when the paper emerged: “climate scientists agree that global warming has not ‘stopped’ – global surface temperatures and ocean heat content have continued to increase, sea levels are still rising, and the planet is retaining ~0.5 days of the sun’s incoming energy per year.”

Right, so the fact that they cannot explain why their models have been way off is irrelevant because warming is sure to continue just like the models say? Okay, then. Carry on.

They are working on finding out why....while you keep the blinders and earmuffs on.
