Whatever the reason (clearing his head, dropping the kids off at the pool), there's no reason to think he quit on the team. He came back out in the second half. It's a ridiculous storyline right now.

They have already indicated that they are going to look at shopping the pick and that they want to compete next season. The names of rumoured interest are Paul George and Cousins, neither of which might get traded. If the Lakers want to entice top players for their $60M of cap space, Lowry and his MVP consideration is a lot more enticing than Russell (who's video of Young's cheating comments surely won't enamour many). Plus if they are willing to deal for younger non-MVP guys like George and Cousins, then when they miss out, Lowry would make a lot of sense for them, a few years older but also a better player.

Lakers don't want to spend 4 years developing prospects (no matter how good), so flipping this pick for win now guys while maintaining the young stud prospects they have now makes sense.

Lowry's episodes of manic/depressive shooting have got to be one of the most disconcerting parts of an otherwise awesome playoff run. I thought this guy was supposed to be Philly tough? It almost feels like the system has propped him up to be this KLOE superhero character, and now he thinks he has to live up to that role and he's crumbling mentally under the weight of expectations.

But that's on him - Lowry wanted to be the alpha dog and Casey gave him the keys to the car in exchange for his cooperation and now we're seeing it play out to its logical conclusion. Would love to know what Masai is thinking?

frankly your just a fan not a mental health proffesional....pay attention to where kyle has come from and how hard he has worked and temper your expectations Kyle is an all star who developed to one late in his career I think you have to understand there are things. As for Casey if he publicly criticized his 12 million dollar 6 ft player he would criticized.There was a reference in last nights game about the payroll differences of the remaining playoff teams. clevland has max players like lebron,kyrie and maybe love. With all the irresponsible reporting going on certain issues I thought a statement that Isiah Thomas made about Toronto carrying the expectations of an entire country was one of the most intelligent statements made if kyles inconstancy is that he focus consistently because of that pressure cut him some slack. He chose to play in this country give him some credit. As far as Casey I applaud him for not taking the bait at the last press conference when he got very assertive when some reporter hounded him into trying to come up with more praise for Lebron. I recall him saying that Lebron was the best player in the world at the beginning of the series and he said it was not his job to come-up with even more praise but to work on getting the most out of his team. So lowry for most of the season has been the best player on one of the four remaining teams. Not bad for 12 million. Lebron is one of the most physically gifted athletes ever and possibly a top 5 talent of all time. He gets paid 24 million or more dollors a year and sandbagged the first half of the season got his coach fired then finally listened to his new coach and got in shape. They are playing phenomenal now.

+1 People are over reacting to the Raptors losing to a very good team. Crazy how fast raptors fans will switch on thier players. Even though they've gotten further than any other Raptor team.

no. los angeles is every gms dream scenario. a gm with no wrong move to make. the only way for LA to fuck this up is to trade that pick. doesn't matter who falls, they made the right pick and have a chance at a real game changer.

Everyone thinks that we're better off than the Lakers because we're in the ECF.

But LA has 70 million in cap space, a top 2 pick, great young players, and they're the Lakers, so free agents will come.

They could be a contender next year with a good free agency.

Disagree, Lakers have been terrible. They've had cap space the last 3 summer and havent brought in one above average player. Culture is a big part of recruiting players to your team. Maybe Walton changes that but, right now its bad.

Also not a big fan of this draft. The best player in the draft has a bad motor. And 2nd best ceilling is a poors man KD.
