Nuggets and Thunder probably will want to rest them. Unless they push back. They seem like nice kids though
they might prefer it but i feel like most organizations understand what a big deal the olympics are... i think it's different than the world's or qualifying tournaments where teams and agents might put more pressure on guys to sit out.

Raptors let Gasol go to the Worlds after maxing out playoff games. That probably finished him off, though. Olympics are less games.

      • All the big stars in the US are lining up to go.. so that will just ensure that Canada gets its best too.

Besides we've seen players suite up and play even after going to the finals.

MJ/Barkley were in the finals and still played for the Dream Team in 96. There were two Olympics ('00 and '04 where that didn't happen).

But then, Kobe played in 2008 (was in the finals against the Celtics). In 2012 Lebron, KD, Harden, Russ all played (Thunder/Heat were in the finals). In 2016 Kyrie, Klay, Draymond, Barnes played (Cavs/Warriors final). Olympics were in 2021 next because of Covid yet Booker, Middleton and Jrue played (Suns/Bucks final).

I'm just curious, if the Thunder and Nuggets go deep in the playoffs this year, do you think that would affect SGA and Murray's availability at the Olympics?
It shouldn't because you know everyone else on deep playoff teams will be repping their countries at the Olympics.

You guys think Jokic isn't gonna play for Serbia no matter what?

Phil had zero turnovers to go with is 8 dimes, he was second on the team with a plus 28 and led the team in EFF with 20. Very valuable player in these qualifying windows.

Canada won Bronze at Worlds but we can't forget that it is guys like Phil who made extreme sacrifices to got the team to the
                World Championships / Olympics ...

I would be curious to know if you asked Guys like Phil who love Canada Basketball .. If " you "not going to the Olympics may
help Canada win a medal will you say hell yes lets do what ever it takes ?

To me the Olympics are like NBA playoffs and pre Olympics and the summer is the trade deadline day ... Do you upgrade
your roster at the cost of a player who has been on the team all NBA season ... the answer is yes and that should also
appy to the Olympics and NBA players not on the team last summer .

                • Gotta love SGA. Playing the Suns now, weaved his way to the basket and the awed ESPN announcer summed up the defenders perfectly…..”he used those four players like pylons”

Damn. I guess that removes any controversy on whether he should have been included on Team Canada or not.

The scoring is a bonus, he’s been a defensive beast. A small ball lineup of SGA, NAW, Dort, Brooks and a big will give the opposition fits and still provides some scoring punch.

Can't have a small ball lineup without Murray.
