DeMar DeRozan to the Chicago Bulls for Thad Young, a future first-round pick and two second-round picks..not bad haul.
Everyone in there mother have announced trades, signing...but
Raptors still waiting for civilization 2 end..
2 years in a row we have done nothing..nothing..
I guess Tank Nation already started.
He's worth a gamble. Bull making it clear they dont want him teams could maybe pry him for a under value contract and hope he breaks out in a new environment.
He's the one guy that I want to see them target. The other is THT. I don't really care about the other free agents.
Markkanen would be a good get. 7'0 stretch big, can space the floor for Barnes and Pascal. With all the players the Bulls picked up, I'd be surprised if they kept him.
Not really a Markkanen guy myself. Not a super Raptorsy guy either. Think there is a move in the works, but either way I like the team building we’ve done… and I know we’ve been relatively quiet over the last 24 hrs but our free agency started like 5 months ago when we decided to tank. Got Trent, Birch, a couple seconds for UDFAs, its been good.
Well, the argument then is to ensure the player you are signing and trading wants to go to a terribly run team. Hard to do.
I don't know if there was a 3-way (or even 4-way) deal in there somewhere, but yes, you do want to take advantage of terribly run teams.... early and often.

I think the Raps are doing their best to leverage something out of Dallas or New Orleans with this Dragic stuff, both of which have occasionally qualified for that title.

That’s actually decent compensation for player of Lowry’s stature, it’s not like there weren’t other suitors if Lowry couldn’t get the money he wanted out of Miami. Having a final big contract was just as important to Kyle.

Dragic doesn’t have the same pull... but we’ll see. Toronto also lost its leverage in the trade negotiations. I’m hoping the trade is contingent on them finding a third team.

Hopefully Luka is putting pressure on the Mavs front office, which usually encourages dumb, short-sighted roster moves, which end up looking really bad in hindsight. LeGM is famous for this.

If not, Raptors will probably look to trade him at the trade deadline since he is expiring. There is no bias like there was with Lowry so shouldn't be hard to trade him to a contender looking to get a decent backup guard to help them win a championship.
