I'm not saying he's the next Steph ,
but Poole could be his successor in GSW.
I'm talking specifically of GSW only, and not of the entire basketball as a whole.

way too triggered to respond to all the nonsense in the past several days worth of posts in this thread, but will just say that using this series as some sort of referendum on draymonds career is pretty dumb because he's obviously pretty past his prime now. peak draymond was special, the second most important player to one of the best teams of all time (more crucial than durant, who was a pure luxury) and will be a well-deserved HOFer.
it's also stupid to call klay washed coming off two consecutive career threatening injuries. he'll never be what he was pre-injury because he's lost two years and is now 32, but he's still improving during this comeback and has looked much better to me than he did early in the memphis series when i suggested benching him for payton. he's looked especially better on the defensive end. he's low-key always been pretty erratic offensively, which is partly why it's so funny the same poster who called him the BEST sg in the LEAGUE the whole time he was injured is now calling him washed. whatever.
curry is having an all-time performance this series considering the stakes, his relative lack of support, and the fact that one of the greatest defence's in modern NBA history is keyed entirely on stopping him. can you guys imagine how good curry would be if he wasn't always officiated like an undrafted walk-on camp invite? the officiating these last two games was comically celtic-sided.
and man boston is a great defence but goddamn they flop so much it is infuriating.
fuck boston so hard for ever and always, amen.

He's not nearly good enough to be Stephs successor. If Poole is your best player you're coming in last place.
This is only Poole's third year.
I'm not saying he is their best player, but in that position he is next in line
Jordan Poole 2021 stats:
18.5 ppg, 44% fg, 3.4 rebs, 4 ast
(Not to compare but just to get a bit of perspective as to what's good enough..
Steph Curry season 3:
14.7 ppg, 49%FG, 3.4 rebs, 5 assists)
oh btw coming back from injury, Steph had to come off the bench to give way to Poole coz he was playing too well.

Wiggins is much better than Poole and only 27. He's much closer to being a successor than Poole.
The comparisons to Gary Trent are pretty apt. Would you consider Gary a Curry like successor to build a team around? I sure wouldn't.

When Steph is done I expect the Warriors to tank hard so they can draft his successor and rebuild for a few years. Poole will be a fine tank commander but he's not a successor.

Also Poole is 4th in the MIP voting this year.
I like Gary but he is NOT at Poole's level at this point. Sorry.

MIP is a dumb ass award who gives a crap. Gary is just as good as Poole if not better.
