Oh my bad I thought we were keeping Casey lol

If there's a new coach than anything is possible.
    lol

I'll save you the trouble of having to go all the way one page

"1. Casey is no longer the coach. Masai wants Messina or Udoka, but San Antonio go on another title run, and in the meantime Masai interviews several fall-back options, but falls in love with one of them and hires him due to fear of another team jumping in first. The “fall-back” coach we land is either Alex Jensen, Sam Cassell, or Kenny Atkinson. Younger, progressive thinkers. One of the current Raps assistants takes the D-League Head Coaching position (Bayno or Nurse). Mo Pete joins Raps staff in assistant capacity (possibly D-League staff)."

        1) Casey will be back
        2) Amir and Lou walk
        3) Vasquez, Patterson, James Johnson, Ross, Caboclo, Noguiera, Daniels = #6-12 in depth chart
        4) Starting wing and powerforward addressed in offseason free agency
        5) Maybe a DD trade.

I hate to see Amir leave, but with Lou and Amir gone we would have $18M to spend on two starting positions. If we want actual, legitimate NBA starters, we can't even afford to give Amir a tiny deal because it just drops the available amount to spend. He can't start anymore. So Masai will keep it fairly status quo, with no big splashes in FA but sign solid starting caliber guys at 3/4. What ever is left from those signings will go towards players who can backup Jonas.

Ok, here it goes....trying to keep what I want out as much as possible (mix of want and expect in here)

          1. Mo Pete joins Raps staff in assistant capacity (possibly D-League staff).

          2. Lowry is traded to Sac for Jason Thompson and Nik Stauskas (aka Sauce Castillo)

Sac needs a proper PG and they’ve enjoyed success with Rudy Gay. Gay and Lowry’s buddy-buddy relationship is enough to convince the Kings to pull the trigger. They don’t want Thompson and Stauskas is in a crowded SG position on the team. By adding Lowry, they hope to compete for playoffs before risking alienating Cousins any more than they already have. Kings draft a big man at #6.

Toronto gets an under-achieving PF who rebounds and a young (Canadian) SG who can shoot. Thompson forms the front-court rotation of Patterson, JV (starters), Thompson and ...see #8 and #11 below.

          3. Lou, Amir, Hayes, Hansbrough and Fields are all allowed to walk. Lou signs an over-priced deal with New York. Amir gets a great offer and leaves in a tearful farewell. Hansbrough signs with a western contender. Fields sleeps with his beautiful wife on top of a pile of money every night. Hayes signs a 1 yr deal with Minnesota.

          4. Nando De Colo returns to the Raps to compete for a starting spot.

          5. Masai throws an offer sheet at Cory Joseph while the Spurs are trying to lure Aldridge to sign. In a game of cap space chicken, Spurs match and still manage to sign Aldridge over Dallas.

          6. Drafts PG Delon Wright of Utah at #20 much to the chagrin of many RR posters who are screaming for PG George Lucas.

          7. Masai pulls off a trade with GSW for #30 and drafts the sliding PG George Lucas; causing Raps fans to celebrate and then wonder about our overall PG situation. Cost – multiple future 2nd rounders as GSW is trying to avoid luxury threshold while retaining Draymond Green and don’t want the guaranteed salary of a 1st rounder.

          8. Acquires Tibor Pleiss’s rights from Utah and brings over the 7’2 25 yr old Center known as “The Octopus” to back up JV. Cost – future 2nd rounder

          9. Daniels comes back from Australia and plays in the D-League with only 5 NBA appearances.

          10. GV is shopped but with no takers without taking back significant salary, he is kept but reverts back to his “pass-first” ways. Splits starting PG duties with De Colo (Raps do love a good PG controversy) and shimmies his way back into RR good graces. His defence is still terrible, but he works hard and has better shot selection.

          11. Wright, Lucas, Bruno and Bebe all spend some time in the D-League, but Wright eventually takes over as starting PG by Jan.

          Raps current line-up
          PG: De Colo/GV, Wright, Lucas
          SG: DD, Stauskas
          SF: JJ, Ross, Bruno
          PF: PP, JT
          C: JV, TP, Bebe

Team wins the Atlantic again (but with much stronger competition) with 46 wins. Masai ignores the pressure to add a "vet PG" at the deadline, instead rolling with the younger players. Raps win a hard fought 7 game first round series over Milwaukee. JJ owns Jabari Parker causing the Bucks leading scorer great frustration in his first playoff experience. Raps compete but lose in 2nd round in 5 games to the Bulls (who retain Thibs for one more season btw).
This lineup scares the shit out of me. 38 wins tops for that cast. Please no!

            No faith in the Sauce??!!!

This team would have to run an actual offensive system/plays to score, but we retain DD's elite FTrate, we utilize JV and we use better ball movement to get open looks for PP, TR and the PGs. Wild card is the rookies, but that is always the case.

That Atl deal doesn't look so good anymore. If we had Salmons instead of Lou this year, there is a chance that we are a better team (regardless if the fish played or was 15th man). Depends on how Bebe develops, if at all. Lou has been a cancer to this team.

I think we might be getting carried away. Just because the play of Lou shows symptoms of the team's overall problems does not mean Lou was not a positive asset to the team this year.
That is a normal collar. Move on, find a new slant.

I can't see him being an asset. 16 ppg, shooting 40%, while bringing nothing else to the table, aside from getting to the line at a good rate. He has taken away shots / playing time from JV, Ross / JJ while aiding to our ISO / chucking ways. He has had a successful individual season but he has likely resulted in more losses than wins with his poor shot selection and fg %. He accomplished what he set out to do: Earn a solid contract.

                      Alright. Here we go:
                      1. Casey is not fired, but masai gives him an ultimatum until next season's deadline to prove himself.
                      2. Neither lowry nor demar are traded
                      3. Steamer, fields, and hans are gone.
                      4. Amir signs a cheap deal to come back as 3rd string pf.
                      5. Hayes is signed to vet's minimum to come back as 3rd string C and vet.
                      6. One of GV and ross is traded for a defensive bench shooting guard.
                      7. Bebe goes ham in the offseason and earns backup C spot in the rotation.
                      8. Offer sheet is sent to one of Khris Middleton, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler.
                      9. Masai tries to do a sign and trade with lou will and adds the other of GV and ross who didn't get traded already in a package that is offered to chicago for taj gibson.
                      10. If they accept, taj is our starting pf and touted vet.
                      11. Draft a backup pg (probably George Lucas).

                      Roster:
                      Lowry/Rookie Backup pg
                      DD/defensive sg
                      Kris, Green, or Butler/JJ/Bruno
                      Gibson/PPat/Amir
                      JV/Bebe/Hayes

One of the starters will be traded. We sign a sf like Middleton and mcgee

My hope is its ross. For maybe bennet and the 36th, with that second rounder we select geroge lucas if he falls that far.

                        Roster:
                        Lowry/gv
                        Dd/Lou
                        Middleton?/JJ/bennet
                        Amir/2 pat
                        Jv/McGee

                        D league roster
                        Lucas
                        Daniels
                        Bruno
                        Some scrub
                        Bebe

We sign Middleton to a max deal. We draft Lucas at 20. Amir and Lou walk. Casey is fired. Thibs is hired via godfather offer (one he can't refuse). Vasquez and our 2016 pick dealt to Bulls for Taj Gibson. Sign Aaron Brooks to Room MLE. Bring back Chuck on a vet min deal. Bring Daniels over on a 3 year minimum deal.

                          KL/Lucas/Brooks
                          Middleton/Ross
                          DD/JJ/Bruno
                          Gibson/PP/Daniels
                          JV/Chuck/BeBe

So, yeah, that won't happen. But still.

                            1. Casey is not fired. A couple of the coaching staff -- I'm going with Sterner (no!) and Murmys, maybe Bayno -- are replaced with other respected but largely unknown-to-fans assistants.

                            2. Draft: we don't trade up. We draft a long PF, probably one of Looney, Harrell, Portis, or Wood. We also pick up a mid-second for cash and draft either Hanlan or a relatively unknown international.

                            3. Amir does not get a new contract with the team, Lou gets a short-term contract. All other UFA are not retained.

                            4. Ross and Patterson are packaged for a new starting PF, perhaps with a semi-protected draft pick tossed in from our side. Someone of the Thad Young, Gibson, Faried teir.

                            5. James Johnson is traded for a veteran backup PG.

                            6. JV is extended.

                            7. We're in the mix for a few different SFs including Middleton, and Draymond Green. We end up with Loul Deng who is touted as the 'veteran presence' on the team.

                            8. Bruno and Bebe get loads of time with the Brazilian team over the summer; Bebe looks great and Bruno has occasional flashes of greatness. This ends up being the highlight of the summer for Raptors-related stuff.

                              1. Ujiri lets someone else pay Lou Williams too much money.

                              2. Casey is retained.

                              3. Ujiri throws money first at Middleton, then at DeMarre Carroll, and after being turned down by both he overpays Jae Crowder enough to lure him from Boston.

                              4. Amir Johnson signs a long term deal for somewhere around 7 million per with playoff and games played incentives on top, designed to hurt the first year but ease up as the cap rises.

                              5. Ujiri tinkers around the fringe of the rotation with an eye toward adding assets that he can trade later.

                              6. The Raps start the year playing well due to continuity and being rested, and Ujiri waits patiently for stocks to rise with an eye toward making a major play at the deadline.
