Yes, team success is mostly about having a superstar. Coaching is a factor. No coach was taking the recent Raptors deep in the playoffs. And few coaches will completely tank an Embiid-led team (and few seem likely to be able to take one deep either, considering Embiid's fairly unique limitations as a superstar).

Only wanted to add one more comment, which is that I’m shocked at how a numbers guy like yourself could scapegoat Embiid to protect Nurse for the Sixers series loss. In a series where the point differential after 6 games between the 2 teams was 1 point, Embiid had a net rating of +7.3. And your favourite stat, on/off net rating? Get this: +58.0.

Not a typo. Don’t blame Embiid… he balled out. Nurse coached like trash when Embiid was off the court. Just like he did in the regular season.
