Raptors Republic Android & iOS App

Hey guys and gals,

We're running a, how should I say, pilot or beta version of our new Raptors Republic app. We haven't made it official as we're still trying to work out some bugs while improving the user interface. So, its not the final version so expect to see more changes over the next while.

Anyhow, please feel free to download. Available on both Android & iPhone. It's absolutely free.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rsrepublic.app

iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-...6946?ls=1&mt=8

If we could ask a favour though. We're welcoming feedback and suggestions on perhaps things you'd like to see. At the end of the day we're doing this for you guys by making everything here easier available for you the user. Please send your feedback (Regardless if its positive or negative) to raptorsrepublic@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance and we hope you guys enjoy the application.

We need a shooter. Anyone available?
We have shooters. They're just all missing shots. Don't assume that a different guy brought in would be more successful.

If all the guys who are shooting worse were even just slightly below last year/career %s, we'd probably be a top 5-10 shooting team in the league. It's incredible how badly so many guys are shooting.

We don't have enough. We would if Miles was actually shooting, but he is utter trash and I have no faith left in him. We need someone to replace his shooting.

Last year we shot .358% from 3. That was good for 18th last year, but would be good for 10th this year.

Who were the rotation guys who shot below that mark last year to bring it down? Powell, Siakam and DeMar.

DeMar and Poeltl have been moved out for 2 better shooters. Both our Cs who are left shot 36% or better last year. Siakam is now at a somewhat respectable 33%. Powell is basically a non-factor because of his injury, but was shooting much better before going down.

Basically we had 7 guys who are still on the team shooting 36% or better last year. All of them except Delon Wright are at 33% or lower. That is astonishing.

This is not just a personnel issue. On paper there's no reason at all that we can't be a good shooting team.

Yeah I don't think you trade for shooting till the deadline. At this point the concern should be creating open shots rather than if they are being hit. Shooters should come around. At this point its not a personnel issue.

All I know is that come playoff time I do not want to be relying on Miles to knock down 3 pointers. I absolutely have no trust in him. I still have nightmares from ross and patterson thrwoing up bricks in the playoffs.

Miles is looking terrible. Hopefully he just has a case of the yips...but it's his 15th year in the league, so maybe it's all she wrote.

It's his 15th year, but he looks like he's in better shape than last year. It does not look like a physical problem.

It's like he forgot what earned him his contract and spot in the league.

How often does the 5th guy off the bench impact a series?

I mean even if Miles is shooting well hes not getting a ton of minutes. Say Kawhi plays 38 min in close playoff games, thats 10 minutes between 3 guard lineups with Wright, Green or Norm at the 3, Miles, and/or OG/Siakam shared lineups. Raps will not rely on Miles

This is why I never understood why everyone was so excited about adding him, he has been inconsistent his whole career. He has had one season in the NBA of shooting over 40% from three and is a career 36% three point shooter. That is barely better than the league average of 35% this year.

That said.... Do we really need a shooting specialist? I doubt it. We have the potential for decent shooting/spacing across Kyle/Danny/Kawhi/Pascal/Ibaka. If we want shooting I'd prefer to go after a serious talent over more role players. If Beal isn't available maybe you look at someone like CJ McCollum if you can stomach his shitty defense.

Right, his biggest asset is that while he shoots a good but not great %, he has shown the ability to be a quick trigger guy who doesn't need a lot of space to get his shot off and still shoot pretty effectively.

This year he's passing up looks he was taking last year, and shooting dreadfully, and trying to do other things he's just not capable of doing. It's pretty flabbergasting.

People here have joked about the "Toronto effect" on shooters but it almost seems true. Someone with more time on their hands than myself could research it. How many guys have been brought in as shooters who then have shot below their career average? The point on CJ though is well taken; there is scant evidence that he ever was a "sharpshooter". But looking at this year we expect to egress not regress to the mean of about .36. That should be good enough if it happens. As this team has essentially no picks to deal and few tradeable assets I think we need to depend on Nurse and staff to help our guards, OG and CJ get their mojo back. As Kyle looked brilliant in October/early November I don't think his issue is age. Maybe injury but probably confidence. Delon also looks shaken; not sure why as his 3 point shooting has been stellar when he does shoot. I never thought I'd be looking forward to Norm coming back.

I'm not going to stop talking about this guy: TREVOR ARIZA.

The Suns BADLY need a PG. Offer them Vleet + anyone not named Siakam, Ibaka, JV, Lowry, Green and Kawhi.
