It's why the Magic are doing so well.... they have great floor spacing. TBH, we could have that as well but we need to use our SF/PF in pick & pops more often.... staying on the perimeter while our guards & sometimes SF's drive inward. As odd as it seems, I'd want to use OG as a screen setter more on offense due to his body type & the fact he can hit 3's. I feel a pick heavy offense would suit us wonders & I'd love to see us roll out a unit with OG & JV as the main pick men, with Miles, Lowry & Wright on the outside..... it'd also be a great defensive lineup.Axel wrote:Now Cody can stop posting about this guy and we have a poster to blame if anything goes wrong!!KeonClark wrote:We won't hear back from him. Until then, opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they most often stink

If guys like Vucevic and Gordon can re-invent themselves as 3-pt shooters in a short period, it makes you wonder what's up with DeMar. Is it his mechanics or something mental? Do the Raps need a shot doctor?

DeMar has been working on it too, but he does have form issues and a different playstyle mentality.

From the Rookie Status Update on theringer.com
"An inability to match up with bigger wings, from Joe Johnson all the way to LeBron James, has killed the Raptors in the playoffs the past few seasons. Toronto’s new starting lineup could have a similar issue. DeMar DeRozan is their primary option on offense and spends most of his energy at that end of the floor. Norman Powell, Toronto’s starting small forward, is extremely undersized for the position at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds. Serge Ibaka is a traditional big man who is better at protecting the rim than guarding on the 3-point line. Their top two perimeter reserves are Delon Wright (6-foot-5 and 190 pounds) and C.J. Miles (6-foot-6 and 225 pounds). It’s Anunoby or nothing for Toronto."...

I will admit it's a little vexing that Bruno hasn't been molded into a deadeye shooter yet, but that's a personal bias.

To be fair you can't expect our young guys, who aren't natural shooters, to shoot any better than 30-35%. Especially at this stage in their careers.
I've been around the game long enough to understand that shooting is a natural gift, outside of anomaly's like Kawhi you won't develop knock down specialists, especially on a consistent basis; only good enough shooters to keep the defense honest. We need to trade for or draft shooters.

All we need is shooting good enough to keep the defence honest, from guys not named Lowry, Ibaka and Miles anyway.
Give it some time, I expect the young guys will get at least into the high-20's, low-30's, and Lowry's shooting will return to form, at which point we'd be in the mid thirties as a team.
