  • DD, some picks and a young guy gets you Horford I think.

    They would be left with

    Teague
    DD
    Korver
    Millsap
    Asik

That is a damn solid team and easliy still in the playoffs.

    we have

    Lowry
    Ross
    Carroll
    Horford
    JV

A more playoff built team imo, with the option of moving JV in the offseason for a big wing upgrade and letting Biyombo/NYK Pick/Bebe run as our center.

    • They already have korver, why would they want demar?

Very much doubt there is a deal that doesn't include the NYK pick. Also suspect that they would want Ross in this scenario, plus more. DD, Ross, Bruno and 2 picks might get it done but honestly don't see Atlanta moving Horford as he seems more likely to resign than KD.

        • I have figured it all out.

This is the answer boys and girls and those caught between.

Midseason trade of Demar, Ppat, LAC 2017, Toronto 2018, Toronto 2016 picks to Atlanta for Horford and Bazemore.

Offseason trade JV to Dallas for nothing.

          Renouce all free agents.

Beg Biyombo to take a 4 million per year salary

Sign KD to a 25 million per.

          Resign Horford

          Lowry/Joseph/Wright
          Carroll/Powell
          KD/Bruno
          Horford/Biyombo
          Pcik/Free Agent/bebe.

Vet minimums to fill out the roster as needed.

hard to say, if he wants to resign then I agree, if he gives any inclination of leaving then less will get him.

That's leaving some big question marks in the big rotation though....

Also it doesn't address coaching. And while that lineup has some solid star power....is it, say, more talented than most contenders? Because if it's at a similar, or maybe a bit lower level, then we'll need better coaching.

Demar is the very type of player Hawks will run away from. He just wouldn't work there, they wouldn't even give up a bag of chips for him.

I agree, but they do have Korver on the wings and millsap up front, so the brutality of Demar would be negated.

yes, or, an equal amount of salary elsewhere.

If ross performs and is worth keeping, maybe we move JV in a sign and trade and go with Biyombo as our center(just spitballing ideas)
Not sure if Atlanta would be interested after acquiring Splitter, but they may want some return. Still, that's a lot to give up. Plus, Biyombo would require capspace to re-sign to a deal that is worth his while; if JV is gone he'd have us over a barrel and basically couldn't be kept. Unless Masai can swing a consecutive home-continent deal and convince him to pick up his player option, but that's highly unlikely if he plays as now expected.

Can get whoever we want as a coach that is available.

we are thin up front, but 2016 offseason has alot of lower tier, but solid vet bigmen who may/will take a paycut to go after a ring like:

                            Noah
                            Lee
                            Jefferson
                            Dalembert
                            Pachulia
                            Hickson
                            Tolliver
                            Speights
                            Hill
                            Mahinmi
                            Bass
                            Hibbert
                            Anderson
                            Haslem
                            Kaman
                            Smith

I kinda like all the bad press. Hope it helps change his mindset a bit, and increases the mass of the chip on his shoulder. No time to #ProveEm like the present.

It is a possibility, if there is an incentive to a larger, more lucrative 2017 resign.
