The personal criticisms are a little ridiculous. The guy likes to buy clothes. So what? I waste money on watches. Lots of guys on here waste money and time on video games. We all waste time on RR. We all could be doing something better and more meaningful than watching men in pajamas play with a ball and commenting on it amongst ourselves. Are we really holding everyone to that standard now? There are plenty of reasons to want Carroll gone without turning into goddamn Puritans....

“I love shopping too,” Joseph said. “I can shop for a while too, but what he’s doing is outrageous. I tell him we have a game (the next day). I can’t be on my feet for five hours. I’m reasonable. Two or three hours and I’m done.”

The consensus seems to be that Demarre is a sunk cost. I think there are two ways to look at this situation.
1) His body is broken, his career as a useful nba player is over. Try to get rid of him and failing that stretch the contract. Plenty of players fizzle out of the league as they enter their 30's.
2) His body can be salvaged with an off-season of rest and focused work with the best medical professionals/specialists. There are examples of older players who looked like they were done and made dietary and lifestyle choices that rejuvenated their bodies (Richard Jefferson is a good one). You get the feeling he's a 'work hard' not 'work smart' kind of guy. Alex McKechnie this is your greatest challenge yet - next season his bounce returns and he's back to being the 3 and D player he was in Atlanta.

I think he focused on rest and getting healthy last off season as well, but seemed to come back the same.
If they don't move him then the hope is that the new ball movement system MU has spoken about implementing for next season can at the least salvage his offensive game. Not sure if he'll ever be healthy enough to play the type of defence he did in Atlanta.

So the guy likes his clothes if that is his only vice leave the person alone I am sure if your life was under a microscope everyone could find flaws.
And if he's physically fine to be spending that much time on his feet, then it's definitely not a good look when he's bricking up open shots in games. The natural criticism is that he should be using at least part of that time in the gym working on his game, getting up some extra shots, dribbling, film work, etc.... Even if he wasn't injured, his game definitely could use the extra work.
