Let's take a closer look at the highlight of the night.

How clumsy do you have to be to dribble RIGHT, and bounce it off your LEFT foot? This is highly unique case. I'm not sure how DeRozan hasn't managed to hurt himself climbing stairs.

EDIT: He didn't even dribble it off his foot, as a first thought. He flat out ran into the ball, like he didn't know it was there, LMAO.
I couldnt stop laughing when it happened last night even though i was super tense about the game. I kept trying to gather myself and get serious about the final minute but kept bursting out laughing again. Watching it again now i am at work busting a gut.

        • That's what you get for taking a swing at CoJo.

DeMar was just sticking up for him. What a teammate.

            • Highlight of the entire postseason for Demar right there.

For those concerned with having to take back junk salary in a later trade of DeMar...

Keep in mind, there is ANOTHER cap boom next summer. There will be teams that strike out on free agents, and have max cap room, and maybe would rather trade picks/prospects for DeMar using their cap space to facilitate the deal rather than trying to match salaries and play over the cap.
I understand that, but it's more about actual value....would anyone trade a high pick for Demar? What about if he shits the bed next year in yet another playoffs?

If we're talking late picks, role players, flexibility....that's not great value for a max contract. I don't feel the need to sign DeMar to a max deal just to get some unspectacular assets back later down the line.

                  • Honestly he just needs one good game for his confidence to rise

IK his thumb is fucked up but its the playoffs, he has to find out other ways to contribute. and Im sure he can do it

He totally can contribute. If he kicks the ball a little harder next time maybe he could take someone on the heat out for concussion protocols?

I'm in the "not that good camp"

                        These shooting numbers arent surprising

The problem with JV and DeMar together is that DD can't play off ball. Just not in his skill set. So JV can't be a primary option as long as DeMar is here.

My point was directly in regards to the comment about development. He doesn't need to be the guy getting his number called every other play to develop. In fact him having to play as a blue collar role player fighting tooth and nail for everything probably works out to his favour in his long term development. He's very young and his time is coming.

How about "in over his head."

There sure is a lot more going on than missing a few shots per game because of a sprained thumb. He didn't even have the sprained thumb in round 1.

It was extra funny because he goes around looking at the ref for a handout call every whistle.

                              • ok, right now, I'm all in favour of letting Demar walk this offseason. No way in hell one can justify paying him in the vicinity of 25M per year. Paying him that much money was a scary proposition for me before the playoffs began. No "we can't let as asset walk for nothing" or "we can trade him later for something" is gonna change my mind. Derozan playing like regular season Derozan may change my mind, but that's very unlikely to happen.
