I think Kobe would be fine and adjust somewhat, he's too competitive to not make the adjustment to more 3s and less mid-range, but most importantly, his defence changes the conversation from an empty producer legacy, like say Melo, to a premier talent.
I think the concerns about melo's poor defense are blown up. Sure, he's not a great defender, but he's at least average on that end.

Demar might actually do the dunk contest. Gonna be a sweet one if he does.

Because if he decides to do it, other big name guys might reach as well. It being in Toronto only adds a cherry to the cake

Bigger than most of the previous recent dunk contest participants.

          • Dunk contest has been such trash for so long....Between Birdman getting 156 attempts, and Blake Griffin jumping not even close to over a car....yeah, they should just invite random non-NBAers instead.

              I enjoyed LaVine last year.

              • ^ agreed. They should let amateurs do dunk contests now.

                • I hope Lavine is in the dunk contest again, he was entertaining last season.

                  • Just get rid of the props, give guys three attempts at each dunk, and problems solved.

You're probably right that he changes and adapts.

We've actually seen it this season with Paul George. He came out talking about not caring about analytics on November 16th. Up until then he averaged 6.5 3's per game through 8 games. Since then, granted small sample size, he is averaging 9.4 over 5 games. I mean he was playing pretty good through first 8 games but the last 9 has been insane. Will be interesting to see if 1) he keeps it up, and 2) if he changes his tune through more games experiencing more success taking a step or two back.
Wow, I just looked at Paul George's stats page. So basically, the Pacers are winning entirely because of him, and I guess coaching maybe too? They have such a terrible roster.

                      • Griffen - Wiggins - Lavine - DeRozan - Westbrook - James - Green - Wall

If we can get 3 of these 8 players in the dunk contest, it will forsure be amazing

Lebron is 30, he didn't participate in a dunk contest before, I highly doubt he ever will. Don't care too much about Wall either.

I'd love to see Lavine, Derozan and Wiggins.

I want to see one of wiggins or lavine
rather have wiggins since it's in toronto

                            So

                            DeRozan-Griffin-Westbrook-Wiggins
and then have WB and BG

This is what I really don't understand about Derozan: Why hasn't he developed at least a serviceable 3pt shot?

Even Scola, a low post specialist, at age 35, is hitting 3s which is something he never did before. DeMarre Carroll says a 3pt shot is all about putting in the work and reps, plain and simple. DD supposedly has a legendary off-season work ethic. Is he just not working on 3s, or think they aren't important for a shooting guard, or has been instructed not to?
