Could be. Raps need to be careful with term. Ideally they'd get him back on a 1 year deal, maybe 2. Three would be tough. But shorter term means higher AAV, so...
Ideally yes. Danny is probably looking for a bit of security tho, probably doesnt think hes at the traveling "nomad shooter for hire" stage yet, which is where kyle korver finds himself.

Nonetheless, I think Danny's offer waits until kawhis decision and hopefully he understands that

    • talk about moving norm we should be reminded of this. we will most likely have to play the bucks in the playoffs ever year. Everyone knows norm earns his contract in 1 playoff series vs the bucks

DS, I thought you of all people would have crushed the Celtics. They're losing Kyrie, Horford, and they salary dumped Baynes.

Losing Kyrie might be addition by subtraction but they'll be fighting for a low playoff seed at best.
Nope... the Celtics have a couple of rounds left in the magazine.

Watch for Brown to become the leader on that team with Smart....
        Hayward will be loads better....
Taytum... will be good ... just not turn water into wine good that the media set the bar for.
Rozier will eat his pride and come back and give them a decent but not good PG.
        The bench is passable..

I think in FA they take a run at Cousins or Deandre Jordan on the cheap and a guy like bojan bogdonvich

I think they finish somewhere between 4 and 6....
4 if they get Cousins/Jordan and the veteran wing.... 6 if they get nada
Like whose going to push them out ? Detroit, Miami , Charlotte and the Magic are all mediocre teams

Brad Stevens is at his best when he gets to roll up his sleeves and make a dollar out of 10 dimes

Boston and Indiana may switch roles next year, and Indiana wins the 4 v 5 series this time

Is that worth $11M though? They might look much different next year. Middleton will be back but who knows about Brolo and Brogdon. One or both might get stupid money when the big boys come off the board and some GMs are left empty handed after cap dumping one of the most promising young players in the league; I'm looking at you NYC Knickerbockers. If those two leave it changes a lot on that team.

it was kind of tounge in cheek. but actually it is 100% worth 11 million losing to the bucks vs advancing another round.

Three year deal for Danny stinks in my opinion. He doesn't have much time left no matter the age, just compare the playoffs this year to his time with the Spurs a couple seasons ago. There's a significant decline, he's trending down. he gets three years then this time next year that Norm narrative in here from last offseason is playing out with Danny...
10 x 2 sounds reasonable for both parties imo

Pretty much everything rests on FA this year....
Come July 6 or 10 we get an idea of the landscape.....

Can the Bucks get both Lopez and Middleton back.. they will just match on Brogdon
Can the Raps get the Kwactus to sign a 1+1 or maybe even a 2year deal
Can Boston get any black athlete to sign up to play in the most racist intolerant city in the North East
Can the Nets get a Tier A free agent ... Irving makes it harder for them.... Durant or Tobias Harris or even Jimmy B is a better fit as they can reup Russell with their bird rights.
Can the Hinkies live with the luxury tax of two max deals for butler and harris and then carry simmons on an extension or do they pick one....

Its really going to be front office time during FA in the East...

                  EDIT...

If Mark Cuban can get Horford to come to DFW those guys are suddenly pretty effing good....
Doncic runs offence and he has the Zinger and Horford up front :

Wonder if anyone does a DeAndre Jordan and welshes on a commitment this year....

Ah, gotcha. Well, this year yeah all things considered but next year no way. You have approx 330 days to sort out a bench plan that doesn't involve occasionally alright Norm saving the day.

Why stop there? 5 more years. You know thats Masai first offer, and Masai is the boardroom man. Boardroom man meets board man, everyone gets paid

Woj figures that the Raps won't match an offers for Nando.

Not matching is no reason not to qualify him. I'd be surprised if they just let him walk to UFA. At least see if the market is such that he makes sense to hold onto.

                            Its the choice....

1+1 positions him for another mega monster deal as he can command more of the cap percentage as a 10 year guy to pair up with his all NBA status
Its a risk though in that he could get hurt a la boogie and IT who lost at least a hundred mil....when they got hurt.

If he goes the safe route he signs up for 5 for 190M$ +
Thats money that can't be lost... its his....he could pull a russian hockey player and get fat and quit ... but ts still his..
Not that he would do that... but thats a done deal and no financial anaylsis says thats a poor choice.

Or maybe he does a hybrid.. signs the 5 year deal with an opt out in year 3 that if exercised terminates the final two years of his deal....
Not sure the CBA would allow that but its something that gives him a way out if he wants it...

Masai is going to lay 4 offers on the table, 1+1, 2+1, 3+1 and 4+1, all at the full max, and tell Kawhi he can have whichever of them he wants.

The CBA does not allow this. Player options can only be in the final season of any contract.
