His very talented, but he tends 2 hold the ball and shoot first, also on D, his a gambler, his rotation is weak, his defensive assignment who ever he is guarding lights him up, so it's more of Raptors players around him that is protecting him, it could be worse.
Anyway..something about Gary Trent and LA Rumors, always these LA rumors...Masai tends 2 circle wagon and if Lakers are out..I don't know..maybe Lebronto would be nice for few years, I realize Lebron isn't what he use 2 be, but with this squad..he would still be must c TV.. or streaming, who watches TV anymore..Something 2 pounder and keep an eye..."Never apologize for coming to me. Gary played really well against the Bulls on the 2nd game of a B2B. Not much to ask for from the 4th-5th offensive option of the team. The 23 years old does respond well to some of his mistakes the night prior. He is facing adversities head on.
This player is a 37th pick overall in the second round if you are not paying attention. He ain’t the no.10th pick in the first round being ask to shoulder the load of the team. So again pay attention (general comment not directed to anyone )

So many ahead of him are no longer employed by any of the NBA team.
His numbers right now and what role he is playing with his current team are even better than some players drafted in the first round.
so it is just unwarranted hate of his game by saying that he has not improved since he was drafted…..considering what and where was his starting point. Sad even.Last edited by The Claw Reborn; Tue Nov 8, 2022, 01:54 PM.

I understand though…
the void created after Derozan left is huge, even with Danny Green temporarily filling that hole was still not satisfying for some of Derozan’s most avid fans and supporters.
trading Norm for Gary and having a 37th pick fill that space requires a tremendous leap and lofty expectations.
But Norm was not traded to acquire a superstar yet alone an All Star. He was traded commensurate to what was his current value and the return was Gary Trent….This is of no fault of Trent as well, he was re-acquired and signed by Masai using little than higher AAV using advanced analytics projecting that he can be good complementary player in a relatively defined role. 4th or 5th option at best.
So the nostalgia of Derozan is warranted but moving forward, Gary Trent passed with flying colors from where he was at. Still improving though at 23 years oldLast edited by The Claw Reborn; Tue Nov 8, 2022, 02:10 PM.

I've been one of Trent's bigger supporters but even I have to admit I've been underwhelmed by his defense this season. Being a contract year I thought he'd really buy into the Raps philosophy and be more engaged on that end but he hasn't really shown it yet. He doesn't even look like he's worked on his body much during the off season when you see him next to the other core guys.
He's been about as good as expected on offense though which is why I still like him in the starting line up, but really hoping to see better defense from him as the season goes on.

Fred is kinda soft but Pascal is lean like GTJr.
Bodying guys/bully ball will never be part of his game so weight in of no advantage other than potentially slowing him down.
Dude appears to be in great shape to me.
