We have those to 2nd round picks as well. Lots of opportunity to replenish the asset cupboards and swing for the fences.

He has the potential to be a glue guy doesn't mean he will be.
In a position the Raptors are in (pick number 7) I'd rather take a chance on a guy that maybe will turn into a star but has got the tangibles (hard worker, high IQ athletic, solid 3 & D ) to be a glue guy if not.

if you are picking 7-9.... that's a different story HOWEVER.... you are still getting someone who will more than likely be a high floor guy so I think you just need to decide which skill set you want to take a swing at. Shot Creation, Defence, Play making. You shouldn't be picking someone who is below average defensively unless they are showing the ability to be someone special... and in which case that person is not likely to be available outside the top 4.

Lol. That was Luka’s pre-draft scouting report, so you passed that test.
Of that group, I’d be looking for a a guy that has the potential to be special on offense. Bouknight and Giddey seem to have a chance, or they could end up being Gary Harris and a taller Ricky Rubio. I don’t mind taking a swing a high upside / high bust potential player.Mamba Mentality

lol. And that's my point. Let's not get all hung up on defense when we're talking about 19 year old prospects. If Nurse is THAT good, and our culture is THAT good, we should be able to coach that.

I guess I wasn't clear. I think Giddy's floor is glue guy, but his offensive ceiling could be considerably higher than some of these defense-first, offensively challenged guys like Keon. Just his IQ and passing ability at that height makes his bust potential pretty low, assuming you're not expecting an all-star. I would not be overly upset if we drafted him in the 7-11 range.
Barnes is similar, though with more he needs to show offensively, good playmaker but with even fewer flashes of self creation than Keon, so more of a longer term bet, and a worse shooter with weird mechanics, so you'd be betting you could fix that. I prefer Keon, but Barnes would likely be good too. Moody is another similar player - nice solid floor with his defence and shooting, needs to show more creation-wise but has some tools there. The more I look into them, the more I think I might slot Moody in above Barnes, but Keon is still the clear choice among them in my opinion.
Ziaire Williams is the guy on my list who is there entirely for his shot creation upside. Plenty of tools, didn't really put any of it together this year at all. Has all the tools, the size... The rest is a big question mark. Big upside swing. Could go top 10 or in the 20's and wouldn't be shocked.

Now, the guys in the top 4 all have significant offensive upside just like Green, except the other three are probably better defenders or playmakers (or both). So I have him at 4. But would be very happy to end up with a talent like that out of this draft.

That is exactly what they should do. That's why I have Keon #1. Of all the guys projected in the 6-10 range, Keon to me has the most upside. I'm not worried about his shooting because shooting is the easiest skill to develop.

An interesting comparison of Keon Johnson to Vince Carter here.
